And finally, the last piece to the minimalist cafe decoration series. Vintage inspired as usual, this third piece brings us all the way around the globe such that the East India Company would travel. Enjoy! :)

this makes me think of british...more like *tea time*. and the wall paper reminds me of those lil town houses in england...but that's only based on a couple of brit flicks that i've seen...or i'm prolly making all this up in my heat....or was that just a dream. hmmmmz...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :) Yeah, I can definitely see that it could be tea as well, and those quaint little homes you speak of do have some nifty wallpaper designs! I actually have a book that's all filled with different designs from the victorian era and there's some really cool stuff :) And its ok, those voices in your head do good things sometimes ;)

The title font for all three are the same, it's from the ITC font collection and is appropriately enough called "Vintage ITC" :D

nicely done, but i guess it's rather lacking of sumatran arts [well, as an indonesian, i surely know sumatra...] find some more references for sumatran art patterns....

alas, all is well... nicely done!

You raise a very excellent point my friend! It certainly does not compare to what true Sumatran patterns and artistry can be. I've looked at a few samples and tried my hand at it and came to a realization: I utterly suck at weaving delicate and complex patterns. So in the end, I settled for a design that was somewhere in between East and West. Thanks very much for taking the time to share your thoughts! :)

It's certainly the little intricacys (sp) that make this piece what is is, despite the minimalistic nature.
You've got great shadowing and the shape of the cup is very attractive, the text is perhaps just a little bit to light (opposite to heavy), and perhaps browner, to balance with the table thingie at the bottom.
Nice wallpaper, and the little pattern thingies look great!

There we go, I've given the text a richer golden tone. I tried darkening it at first, but it blended in too much with the background. Once I tried giving it more gold highlights, that's when it started to look happier :)

Thanks very much for taking the time to share your thoughts! Yeah I had a lot of fun making the wallpaper, wouldn't it be nice if I could reproduce it for my room.. hehehe. Now that you've mentioned it, the title text could indeed be balanced out a bit, I'll play around with a much darker/browner tone on it. Thanks a bunch :D
