Just wanted to add another piece to my cafe themed collection :)

It's a beautiful full moon here, and I simply felt inspired to create something that brings me back into those moments. How I wish I could just take a leisure late night hour or two to just relax and stare out the window and smell the fresh sea breeze with a good old cup of coffee without a worry in the world.

Ahh.. we are all allowed to dream aren't we? ;)

edit: did some minor refinements based on a few suggestions, and thanks to ~jadedflower for such an irresistible title I could not pass up!

"I'm talkin to the shadow one o'clock till four,
And Lord, how slow the moments go, and all I do is pour
Black coffee since the blues caught my eye;
I'm hangin' out on Monday my Sunday dreams to dry."

-Julie London - Black Coffee

The moment I saw this that song started playing in my head. :) Wonderful piece, wonderful song.

Woah, you just look at this artwork and you can feel exactly what the motive was behind it.

*sighs* It's just so romantic. I wouldn't mind sittin' with a hot chocolate and breathe in the scenery at a place like that.

Perfect. :)

The McMennamin's Dungeon Burgers .......so, you've been to Portland ORegon ekster?

yea, I was sorta 'hooked' on their fries at one time, greasy lil'bastards ay! ;=P

Sooooo, it's a 'wise-ass-malaysian-man' hey!?! well alrighty then!!!... am saving this 'Cafe' of Dreams'
into my: <Moonshine> folder after I put in the one that was an abstract w/the moon-looking thing in
the upper left corner [in yer Favs]...and it was the only 'Abstract Moon' [what I renamed it] in my file!

Sooo, now I have YOUR style [art-deco?] in there also. I've been in Portland since '68 via Detroit,MI
and Indiana born prior. Was in Phily in '82 w/a 50's style band: Sh-Boom on a 3mo. USO-type Tour.
Korea/Japan/Okinawa/Phily/Hawaii...was a blast!!! barely made it out of Manila, our 'jeepny' broke
down! ... it was MADNESS... they were on the walky-talkies as we came into the airport. It would have
been 2 days 'til the next flight!...just made it!!!

> Really like this 'style' of your Ekster me laddy!...has a very relaxed feeling to it like you say in this
piece here...just sit back, relax w/that favorite cuppa whatever...oh yea, been to NZ 3-times tooo to
see my iNet sweetheart...just friends now!

<ty>!<cc> that's ME!!owwwt4now>>>...

Right on! It certainly sounds like you are a very well traveled man with a fair share of interesting adventures there! :) Yep, I've been to Portland, it's actually the place I grew up at since I was a kid, spent almost fifteen years of my life there which is a lot for a youngin like me hehe. And those McMennamin's fries sure as hell damn greasy! ;) Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts and a bit about yourself as well, I really appreciate that!

HEY EKSTER...

...yea I'm in Beaverton/Cedar Mill off Cornell Rd. Near Sunset H.S. [Murray Blvd. & Hwy.26]

That is my Cat [BigBoy] in my AVAtar...how 'bout yours??? I had borrowed someone elses
when I joined [innocently] and have just given it up for this one: He is a Great
Friendly Cat & we have another beautiful one also 1/2 siamese/himalayan[shorthair][Boots]

Yes....McMinnimans is growing rapidly & they really know how to fix a place up, I've been
to quite a few of them, but never to the Kennedy School location near the Lloyd Center.
An elementary school converted into restaurant/theatre & hotel[I think also]...

> Where did you live while here & when did U leave. My PC buddy John from Georgia is
married to a gal from Jakarta and she just got back from a visit there w/her 2yr old girl.
The folks had never seen the grandchild.

Yep, I saved alot of your work...and got a few new ones there for my: <Moonshine> folder
after the first one I made comment to you then noticed that you had several other that have
a MOON in them...really like the "METROPOLIS" also but w/o moon...the "Golden Rail Express" that is soooSmoooth man! just like a sleek-liner would be! Where are you in
Malaysia Ekster? and what' yer experience w/yer Art, how did you evolve to it...and have
you seen mine?...it's pretty different...but just found out that I CANNOT Sell my work because the 9-Disc Clip Collection I have used for almost 10yrs is NOT Royalty Free!!!;=(
oh well, at least I haven't made tons of work [35+] you're looking @ almost all of it in my
:gallery: [link] luckily I didn't get it all taken down because
I sent one poster to a 'Contest' and that person just happened to be with d/A staff and
noticed some clips in a poster of mine and took it down from my gallery. Man was I peeved!
But I just dropped it when she was getting HDesk involved. - and I had made comment that
if they/she was gonna take down one of my works then she might as well take it all down.
Then Admin said I would have to send proof from the Disc Co. w/terms of svc. etc. - Yes,
I called the Co. and their discs are NOT Royalty Free like I thought. Sooo, I w/just have to
find another Clip-Source now. ~~~~~~~~~~~ and so it goes... <cc>

Cool cats! Yeah it always sucks to discover that something you've always thought as one thing turns out to be another and completely changes the perspective on things. But alas such is life! The important thing is to just keep building on what we've learned :) As to my whereabouts in Portland, I stayed in the SE area nearby Powell. I left about two years ago, just wanting to travel and experience new things even though I miss Portland a lot. But like art, everything evolves around experience and emotion and it would seem that mine is focused on a feeling of nostalgia.

older house has been totally revamped my new owner & looks killer...sooo what do you do
there in Malaysia, and exactly where the heck R-U?? - oh probly told ya, saved alot of yer
nice art man, great to make personal posters of @ a later date! If I didn't tell you ekster
I'm trying to ramp-up w/mktg efforts to offer my Online Course "PC-Creations" so I'm
in the midst of trying to get a good DeskTop-Sharing Solution w/MIC instead of Conf.Call
to be able to include Dial-uP people aslo and just easier that way so you don't have to hold
the phone to yer head for an hour or two. Can't recall what I replied to you about this,
forgive if it's redundant plez. But here's my CraigsList.com Ad that goes in 101 U.S. cities

Since its your featured i couldnt not really sit down and check this one out. So here are some thoughts, as the unpartial observer. I love the look, the feel is very good, as said before, looks lovely and im captured by what she is waiting for. Couple random things I noticed, you can throw them away or take em as you wish. First, the lighting on everything is AWSOME exept it gets kind of lost on her. You clearly have a hard light up in the top right, and then a soft light (the moon) and that casts on the table and room well but some straight lighting happens on her shirt and sort of on the face (you could probably leave that alone with zero issue) Also, her stance is great, and i am compelled by what she is looking at which makes me think, what the heck is over that way? im lost as to where her gase is going, maybe zoning out or the likes, but just makes me wonder whats so good to look at! =) The last very stupid observation, and this is more for humor, coffee in the middle of the night? She studying all night or hungover? heh. Cheers dude, skills really show in these amazing pieces and i do enjoy looking through them with all thier amazing detail. Have a good one partner! Cheers.

Thanks very much for the highly detailed observation! :) Yeah, I do agree that perhaps there could be more to this such as adding hints of things that may make her seem less dreamy, or perhaps more things in the distance. But then I was also kinda zoned out when I finished the piece so in the end it kind of reflected on how I was feeling at the time ;) hehehe...
